We recently had a client from a local school come to us inquiring about the possibility of 3D printing custom parts for their Lego robotics club. One student in paticular had a forklift made out of Technic Lego with some robotic components and we printed out some purple forks for his robot after designing the fork in a 3D modeling program. Just one more example of how easy it is to customize things with 3D printers and its applications for the education system.
