This amazing scale model has been built in Russia and on exhibit in a museum in St. Petersburg. The model is extremely large with a 1:87 scale. The finished model sits at over 16,000 sqft and holds over 20 tons of water and contains over 26,000 pieces many of which were 3D printed though other methods such as laser cutting and milling. The model comes to life with moving horse carriages, ships and people and as the setting turns from day to night the model is brightened by tiny lamps on the streets, the ships and in the buildings. This amazing model cost over $5 million to build but will provide an excellent window to the past for Russians and others interested in the history of Russia.
