A user at Instructables.com has figured out a method to take digital audio files and convert them into a 3D printed record. Using an Objet Connex 500 she managed to produce a 3D printed audio record which would play on traditional turntables. Although it lacks the sound quality of a traditional vinyl record this new process is an exciting example of how 3D printing technology can be used in applications outside of prototyping.
