A new construction method called Contour Crafting has been developed by manufacturing engineering graduate Behrokh Koshnevis who claims that “Contour Crafting will offer the highest architectual flexibility for a cost that is only higher than emergency housing,” which could bring access to cheap housing to areas of the world where conventional house building is not only unattainable price-wise but is marred with other problems like local corrpution and slow build times. Hopefully this could help bring livable homes to the nearly 1 billion people residing in sub-standard housing conditions.
