UAV designers use new 3D printing material

Makers of Unmanned Aerial Systems Embrace ULTEM™ 9085 Thermoplastic Resin

Hello, and welcome to the second edition of our materials newsletter. My name is Susan York and I’m the Stratasys Materials Business Manager for North America. This communication is designed to offer you the most up-to-date news on 3D printing materials, and the innovative ways companies around the world are using them.

This issue is devoted to the ULTEM 9085 thermoplastic resin and its use in the aerospace industry.

Unmanned aerial systems (UASs or UAVs) represent more than 31% of the total U.S. aerospace market (U.S. Congressional Report: U.S. Unmanned Aerial Systems, 2012). As the market continues to grow, it is little wonder that the makers of these highly advanced systems, like UAV Solutions Inc. in Jessup, Maryland, have become such enthusiastic supporters of Stratasys 3D printing technology and ULTEM 9085 resin.

Watch the launch of an unmanned aircraft made almost entirely of ULTEM 9085 resin by clicking on the video icon, and hear how FDM 3D printing technology allows UAV Solutions to make design changes “on the fly”.

For more information on ULTEM 9085 resin or other Stratasys 3D printing materials please contact Susan York.

I look forward to connecting with you again in our next newsletter!

Kind Regards,
Susan
